My time with pharma
Working in Pharmaceutical Marketing lets you touch of variety of Production work through Digital and Physical media. Below is just a sample of the type of Emails, Banners, IVA’s and Processes that I was able to get my hands on.
I worked as apart of a cross-functional team that collaborated with Project Managers, Creative, Quality Assurance and more to make sure all of our digital and physical initiatives were built to design expectations and studio guidelines. With the wide variety of work Pharmaceutical Marketing touches, I was able to work and manage a variety of clients. Please go ahead and check out a couple samples of my work below.
Emails
Digital and CMS email templates and builds were a big part of my every day work. Creative calls discussing the brand, how they’d like the template the email, the team discussing email best practices and limitations and what we can do to really make the emails feel like they are from the main brand or unbranded drug or company.
With every brand, we would create a brand library that would consist of Brand Assets and Email Guidelines. These would automatically apply to the email templates through components and modules through figma with ease. Everything was previously built in Sketch, and moved over that way implementation and build of emails could be done faster and easily reviewed through a shared file.
There were some brands I worked with that wanted to stick with their own private library and rules through a CMS Application called Knak. This platform allowed me to create responsive emails that quickly exported out as HTML. This was great during the QA process for testing the emails on multiple devices and modes.
BANNERS
Traditionally, animated banners were ether built in Sketch or Photoshop. I introduced a Process and building banners within Figma and then exporting out the assets that way they can be done in Google Web Designer. This application works the same way as After Effects, but specializing in Digital Banners (smaller sizes and exports while still holding quality). We also used the Bannerify plugin, and if they wanted Engineers to build these within HTML files were cleans and notes were prepped for a smooth transition.
Interactive visual aid (iva’s)
Traditionally, IVA’s (or Interactive Sales Aids) were traditionally built within Sketch or Photoshop. Within the amount of repeated assets and components, I convinced the leads to move everything over to Figma. This helped because of the prototyping features within the application (helps show the engineers where everything is connected), building assets that are meant to be animated (whether an animated ISI or integrated video) or quickly turning a digital aid into a printable PDF.
Web templates
I was tasked to template and layout all pages of public web pages within Figma to make sure copy flowed at the desired line breaks on different devices, was accessible on different modes and templates were ready for engineers to jump into the file and start building using html
Connecting with brand creatives to allows their ideas to become a physical piece of media. I was tasked to connect with the creative team, break down the logistics and manufacturing, and just like a project manager make sure everything is created within a short amount of time while keeping within cost and quality.
Processes (brand and studio)
While on the team, I realized a bunch of our processes and every day task that were common within our team was not known to anyone outside the Studio. I was then tasked to create documentation on how we create our brand templates, how to build banners with Figma and move them to Google Web Designer and making sure we double check colour accessibility before getting any approval from leads.
